With the VoxiSMS app, you can use an Android smartphone with internet access and a local SIM card as your SMS gateway. This allows you to send and receive SMS messages through Voxiplan, even when recipients don’t have internet access.
How It Works
The VoxiSMS app acts as a bridge between your phone’s mobile network and the Voxiplan platform. Messages are forwarded through your Android device, allowing for seamless SMS communication.
To ensure uninterrupted service, your Android phone must:
✅ Stay powered on at all times.
✅ Be connected to the internet (Wi-Fi or mobile data).
✅ Have sufficient airtime or an active SMS plan with your carrier.
Prerequisites
Before setting up VoxiSMS, make sure you have:
✔️ An Android smartphone with Android 6.0 or higher.
✔️ A local SIM card with an active SMS plan.
✔️ A stable internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data).
✔️ The VoxiSMS app installed from Google Play.
⚠️ Which phones are not recommended?
Some Android brands, such as Huawei, Tecno, ZTE, Oppo, and Xiaomi, have aggressive battery management settings that may terminate background apps like VoxiSMS. If you use a phone from one of these manufacturers, you may experience connectivity issues.
For the best experience, we recommend using a Samsung, Google, or LG smartphone.

Limitations & Best Practices
Message Volume
The VoxiSMS gateway is best for small to medium SMS volumes. If you need to send over 1,000 SMS messages per day, consider a dedicated SMS provider for high-volume messaging.
Airtime and SMS Costs
Your mobile carrier charges for SMS messages as if they were sent directly from your phone. To minimize costs, consider signing up for an SMS bundle or unlimited texting plan with your provider.
Keeping Your Gateway Active
Ensure your phone stays powered on and connected to Wi-Fi or mobile data.
Disable battery optimization for the VoxiSMS app to prevent it from shutting down in the background.
Monitor your airtime balance to avoid disruptions in SMS sending.
Start Sending SMS Messages
Once your setup is complete, your Android device will act as an SMS gateway, allowing you to send and receive messages directly through VoxiPlan. Need help? Contact VoxiPlan Support.
